International Seminar on Planetary Health and MDR-Tuberculosis: Bangladesh Perspective At Primeasia University

The Department of Microbiology of Primeasia University has organized a seminar on Planetary Health and MDR-Tuberculosis: Bangladesh Perspective at the IQAC Conference Center on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at its campus, Banani, Dhaka.
Prof Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of Primeasia University has graced the program as Chief Guest while AKM Ashraful Haque, Treasurer, Abul Kashem Molla, Registrar and Prof. Dr. AJM Omar Faruque, Dean, School of Science of Primeasia University were the Special Guests in the seminar. Prof. Dr. Suvamoy Datta, Chairman, Department of Microbiology presided over the seminar.
In the Seminar, Dr. Byomkesh Talukder, Planetary Health Fellow(Project Co- Director), Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research (DIGHR), York University, Toronto, Canada and Md. Anwar Hossain, Laboratory Director, Damien Foundation of Belgium, Bangladesh and Alumni, Department of Microbiology, Primeasia University were discussed in te Seminar as Keynote Speakers.
The Speakers said, Planetary Health and Bangladesh which involved the change in public health, emergence of new disease, deficiencies on environmental aspects with changing climate of the planet and they shared that MDR-TB (Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis), the current situation of tuberculosis in Netrokona area along with drug resistance to multiple drugs available against TB.
Among others, Faculty Members of the department, officers and the students of the department took part in the Program.
