The role of PR is very diverse and tasks will depend on the type of responsibilities. Some responsibilities often involve:

• Planning, developing and implementing PR strategies;
• Communicating with colleagues and key spokespeople;
• Liaisoning with, and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations;
• Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media;
• Collecting and analyzing media coverage;
• Writing and editing in-house magazines, articles and annual reports;
• Preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, handouts, leaflets, promotional videos, and photography programs;
• Devising and coordinating photo clippings;
• Organizing events including press conferences and exhibitions;
• Maintaining and updating information on the organization’s website;
• Managing and updating information and engaging with users on social media;
• Sourcing and managing speaking and sponsorship opportunities;
• Conducting on other academic institutions;
• Fostering community relations through events and involving community initiatives;
• Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis situation of the institute.
